Perguntas frequentes - FAQ

Confira abaixo perguntas frequentes sobre serviços e valores.

  • What languages does HCM translate?
We work with translation, version and interpretation in Portuguese, English and Spanish.
  • How are prices calculated?
The price of a translation is calculated based on the number of words and the specific requirements of each project (bibliography, charts, tables, images, footnotes, etc.).
  • How long does it take to translate a document?
The translation process goes through the stages of contracting, preparing and formatting the text, translation itself, proofreading and quality control. The duration of a translation depends on the number of words in the original document. In addition, other factors can influence, such as vocabulary research and glossary formation. Agility is one of our core values as a business. Therefore, we do not charge urgency fees. We seek to align deadlines and priorities in advance with the client, offering a more transparent, agile service.
  • I have questions about how some words were translated. What can I do?
HCM values dialogue and collaboration in its projects. For each document, we conduct documentary, literature and jurisprudential research to choose the best terms for translation. If there are any questions about the translation of a term, we offer a review period. After delivering the translated documents, the client has a few days to suggest changes and we define the vocabulary choices that best meet their objectives.
  • What is the difference between a professional translation and Google Translate?
Professional translation takes into account the specific vocabulary of each document. When working with glossaries, professional translation seeks to standardize terms, acronyms and abbreviations, giving cohesion to the text. Machine translations are unable to understand the general context and purpose of a document, as they suggest generic and decontextualized word matches. Although Google Translate and others are a simplified way to carry out translations, legal, technical, corporate documents, among others, require the guarantee of confidentiality, in addition to semantic and context preservation. It is only possible to fulfill these requirements consistently with human intervention.
  • How does HCM handle incoming data (LGPD)?
HCM and clients value ethics, integrity, transparency and confidentiality in the provision of their services. We do not share information for purposes other than contractors. Data is collected for registration and identification purposes, and the customer may request collection, correction and deletion of the set of personal data at any time. All provisions of privacy and confidentiality of the Brazilian LGPD are respected, in addition to the safe storage and treatment of data by the software providers Google for Business, MateCat and Proton VPN, used by HCM.
